Reflect on your current morning habits. What are you already doing immediately after waking up, and how is it serving you? Use the learnings from our routine pairing exercise in the first training to see how these habits align with your goals. - Identify your desired changes.
Determine any changes you wish to make to your current morning routine. Consider what’s not serving you well or what could be improved. Think about new habits you want to introduce. This could include meditation, exercise, journaling, reading, or cooking a healthy breakfast. Remember to start small to ensure sustainability. - Design your new morning routine.
Based on your evaluation and the new habits you wish to incorporate, outline a morning routine. Allocate specific times for each activity, keeping in mind the total time available before you head to work or start your day. Consider logical sequencing of activities—for example, meditate before breakfast for calmness, exercise early to increase your energy. - Implement and adjust.
Begin practicing your new morning routine. Aim for consistency, but allow yourself flexibility as you adjust to this new structure. Be open to making adjustments. If a certain activity doesn’t contribute positively to your morning, consider replacing it with something more beneficial. For example, you may try and find that you just aren’t a morning workout person, but you can use the morning to focus on mental preparation for your day instead.
